It is important that you look after yourself so that you can look after your baby. Especially in the first week it is best to stay at home and rest. Sleep when your baby sleeps. Of course everyone wants to meet the new baby but try to minimise visits and tell visitors to bring some dinner instead of gifts. Have people around you who help out and are supportive.

Feelings

Feelings can be very intense in the time after your birth. There can be feelings of both extremes but if you have more negative than positive feelings or you feel like everything is getting too much, please talk to us about this.
